Krystalyn Madden, MA, LPCC

The three main ingredients for a helpful therapeutic relationship are unconditional positive regard, nonjudgment, and empathy. Krystalyn is a believer that you are the world’s leading expert in what it is like to be you. She considers that her role as your therapist is to help you navigate your journey, pointing out mile markers and other signs, while your role is to be in the driver’s seat as the expert of your own world.

Krystalyn’s goal as a therapist is to integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches that best suit clients on an individual, case-to-case basis. What works well for you may not work well for the next person, so it is important to find the right set of tools that work well for you! Krystalyn typically pulls from a variety of modalities, including CBT, DBT, ACT, somatic processing, polyvagal theory, and more. She also tries to integrate an anthropological perspective into her therapeutic approach so that you can learn why humans behave and emote in the ways they do. Krystalyn is also trained in EMDR therapy.

Krystalyn completed her undergraduate studies in 2017 at the University of New Mexico, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology and family studies. She then graduated in 2019 from the university of New Mexico with a master’s degree in counseling.
