Ferris Simmons

Ferris Simmons brings over two decades of distinguished service in law enforcement to her work as an Intern Counselor at New Growth Counseling, LLC. Her career has been defined by a deep commitment to serving and protecting others, and that same dedication now drives her passion for supporting clients on their paths to healing and personal growth.

Throughout her time in law enforcement, Ferris developed a strong foundation in behavioral analysis and crisis intervention, gaining firsthand experience in navigating the complexities of human behavior under high-stress conditions. Her ability to assess situations with compassion and clarity has allowed her to connect with individuals and families from all walks of life. These skills have naturally translated into her work as a counselor, where she brings empathy, emotional intelligence, and a calm, grounding presence to the therapeutic space.

Ferris has always held a strong connection to her community, building relationships based on trust, respect, and understanding. Her transition into counseling was inspired by a desire to go beyond responding to crises and instead walk alongside people as they process trauma, explore identity, and build resilience. She believes deeply in the power of human connection and sees each therapeutic relationship as a collaborative journey toward greater self-awareness and well-being.

Her areas of interest include trauma recovery, stress and anxiety management, and supporting first responders, veterans, and individuals navigating major life transitions. She creates a safe and nonjudgmental environment where clients can feel seen, heard, and empowered to make meaningful changes. Ferris’s unique blend of real-world experience, intuitive insight, and compassionate care makes her a valuable member of the New Growth Counseling team. She is honored to support her clients as they take courageous steps toward healing and lasting growth.
